Happy Monday! I start teaching again in a week and I’m part in denial and part resigned to the fact. I could begin prepping…or I could start a new blog series. Here we are, so you know which I chose. “Monday Mood” is going to be a compilation of what I’m into each week: what I’m reading, listening to, watching, thinking about…etc. Basically, it’s going to be my weekly brain dump. Plus probably cat pictures. Enjoy.
What I’m Reading:
First, I’m reading too many things. Let’s just get that point out of the way. Accepting it and moving on.

- You, Again by Kate Goldbeck. I’m in the early days of reading this book but I’m so excited to dive deeper. This cover is amazing, this book is supposed to have “When Harry Met Sally” vibes, and we love Jewish rep!
- Unmentionable: The Victorian Lady’s Guide to Sex, Marriage, and Manners by Therese Oneill. As one of my writing WIPs is set in Victorian England, I have been on a Victorian-era nonfiction kick and this book is so much fun. It is chock full of information, and Oneill’s writing is very tongue-in-cheek. I’m reading on my Kindle, but may end up springing for a physical copy!
- The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas. Okay, I was told by multiple people that I needed to read this before Throne of Glass, but I’m still on the first story in this book, and honestly…kind of bored. If you have read this, please give me encouragement!
What I’m Listening To:

- Podcast: Morbid. I am a new listener to Morbid but I. Am. Obsessed. I’m so grateful that I have so many episodes to catch up on!
- Audiobook: The Great Courses: Victorian Britain. I’m not sure if this is considered to be an audiobook, but I have found this fascinating so far! It comes with an accompanying PDF which is also super helpful.
- Music: Speak Now: Vault Tracks. I’m listening to everything Taylor Swift in general, let’s be real. Throw in some Johnny Cash, Noah Kahan, Kelly Clarkson, and Ed Sheeran, and you have my week. Special focus on All My Life: Johnny Cash, Dial Drunk: Noah Kahan and Post Malone, Piece By Piece: Kelly Clarkson, Electric Touch: Taylor Swift and Fall Out Boy, and Ed’s newest album in general.
What I’m Watching:

- Good Omens Season 2. I still have two episodes to go but I’m LOVING this second season so much. Aziraphale + Crowley Forever. I’m loving the flashbacks and mystery aspect happening in this season!
- Pride and Prejudice (BBC): I’m never not watching this, honestly. At some point, I’m going to do an in-depth analysis of this, the novel, and the 2005 version. Be ready.
Odds & Ends:
As promised, here are some cat pictures and other things that have rounded out this week.

- Winnie being Winnie. She has a lot to say, always.
- Simon being exceedingly helpful. He at least, unlike Winnie, didn’t eat part of one of my puzzle pieces.
- GIRL DINNER. It’s too hot to cook. Also, my go-to drink this summer is red wine with ginger ale and some ice. Don’t @ me. It’s delicious. Works best with a red blend in my opinion!
- The puzzle in question: The World of Shakespeare. It’s stunning.
That’s all friends! What are you reading/watching/listening to this week?
