Oof the first Monday back at work (and back to the gym) and your girl is worn out! I considered skipping this post, but I’m trying really hard to be more consistent here. I don’t have students this week, so it is a weird week full of meetings, getting my classroom ready, and wishing I was reading instead.
What I’m Reading:

I’m still reading too many things. I’m going to try to force myself to only read one physical book and one audiobook at a time…after the ones I’m about to share, of course.
- Heartbreaker by Sarah MacLean: This is the second in her Hell’s Belles series and I am already loving it. The third book releases tomorrow, so stay tuned for a review of that one sometime this week! Also… a petition for libraries to STOP putting the barcode on the title??
- Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan: This is a reread because I ADORE this series and the new trailer for the new Disney+ adaptation just dropped. Excitement all around!
- Deception By Gaslight by Kate Belli: I’m not going to lie, I got this from the library weeks ago, got halfway through, and then forgot about it. Oops. Time to finish!
What I’m Listening To:

- Audiobook: Transmogrify: 14 Fantastical Tales of Trans Magic edited by G. Haron Davis: I am loving this anthology so far. So far the stories have all been interesting and this is definitely one that I want to eventually buy a physical copy of.
- Podcast: Shedunnit: I have been on a podcast kick and I am so happy I found this one this week! According to the website, Shedunnit is “a podcast that unravels the mysteries behind classic detective stories.” I’m loving it, and host Caroline Crampton has the loveliest voice!
- Podcast: Morbid: I’m still on my Morbid kick and I don’t see that changing! I’m listening to their backlog but bouncing around quite a bit. I listened to their Burke and Hare two-parter episodes and I’m constantly blown away by how thorough their research is.
- Music: Still mostly Taylor. My ultimate playlist is below. 🙂
What I’m Watching:

- Stanley Tucci: Searching For Italy: After listening to Tucci’s memoir Taste, I immediately started watching this show. I adore Tucci and this show is incredibly interesting!
- Good Omens S2: I finished season 2 and NEIL GAIMAN EXCUSE ME?!?!?!?!?!?! I have THOUGHTS and FEELINGS but I don’t want to spoil anything. All I have to say is…if there isn’t a third season I will riot.
Odds & Ends:

- Back on my Duolingo grind, and I also want to live in Spain.
- Simon takes his duty as a bubble bath guard very seriously.
- An elderflower spritz at Bar Purlieu in Eugene, OR–delicious, and this bar is one of my new favorites!
- Over the summer, Winnie got into the habit of following me around the house and meowing whenever she wants me to take a nap with her. Obviously, I can’t say no.
Wishing you all the best week, and happy reading!
