Historical Romance Reads Vol. 1

Heyyyyy Reader Friends! Long time, no talk. I’m here today with some historical romance reviews. The fun part is that these are all books I read several months ago and have vague memories of. However, the vibes have been imprinted on my brain, so I’m running with that. What I know for absolute sure is that I enjoyed reading all of these!

The Love Remedy: Elizabeth Everett

First, I love this cover. Second, I love a mystery/romance blend! Strong-willed apothecary Lucy and grumpy private detective Jonathan were an intriguing match, although I do think that Jonathan was a bit too judgy at times. However, that’s my opinion as a woman who doesn’t live in the Victorian era. Lucy is determined, ambitious, and willing to do what is needed to help others.

A Governess’s Guide to Passion and Peril: Manda Collins

I’m a big fan of this series by Manda Collins, and this was another fun one! Like The Love Remedy, I love the blend of mystery and romance and the Victorian period. We met both main characters in the last book and I knew immediately they would be featured next. MMC Lord Adrian is SO charming and swoon-worthy. FMC Jane (as the governess) is intelligent, caring, and definitely NOT constantly thinking about her past(?) crush on Adrian. There is a lot of action too!

Never Met A Duke Like You: Amalie Howard

Thanks to Forever Publishing for this free digital copy in exchange for an honest review! This book is available now.

It took me WAY too long to read this one! I loved Howard’s first book in her “Taming of the Dukes” series, and “Never Met a Duke Like You” was just as fun. Vesper is whip-smart and strong, and Greydon made me feel all melty inside. They have so much history and misunderstandings to work through, as well as current issues. Plus, there is a kitten! All of the friends from the first book are back, and I’m excited to read the next book!

The Stranger I Wed: Harper St. George

Thanks to Berkley Publishing for this free digital copy in exchange for an honest review. This book is available now!

Here’s a Gilded Age historical romance! I haven’t read many historical novels from this period, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. American heiress Cora is smart, independent, and carries the world on her shoulders…she’s the eldest daughter, need I say more? British Leo Brendon is a tall rugby-playing, politically progressive earl…need I say more lol? I love a marriage of convenience where the two main characters are actually crazy about each other! I will definitely continue the series!

I have many more historical romances on my ARC (and TBR) list, so stay tuned for a new batch of reviews in this “series.”

I hope you’re all reading a good book today!
