I absolutely adored Alison Cochrun’s The Charm Offensive and was so excited to read Kiss Her Once For Me. It didnāt disappoint! š I really liked how the story flipped back and forth between the events of āLast Christmasā and āThis Christmas.ā I love a story where the main character has to confront their inner demons and experiences a satisfying growth arc, and KHOFM definitely delivers. It has fake dating, a loveā¦quadrilateral? š, holiday stress, a grand gesture, and a bookstore meet-cuteā¦which is honestly THE DREAM. Ellie and Jack have so much chemistry and I just LOVED all of the characters. I also really appreciated the conversations and representation around anxiety disorders.
This is described as the āqueer holiday rom-com that youāll want to cozy up with next to the fireā and I 100% agree. It was sweet, tender, and funny. Also, itās set in Portland, OR, where I used to liveā¦and it made me miss Portland even more than I already do. So thereās that.
I recommend if you are a fan of romcoms, holiday-centered stories, snow, and F/F romances.
